Mint Julep 2

Ingredients

  • 3-4 mint sprigs, dived
  • 2 ounces bourbon or whiskey
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • Crushed ice

Indicates item can be purchased at Tenuta’s.

Directions:

Making a Mint Julep is much easier than you might think and requires only a few ingredients. Since few ingredients are used, it’s important to select only the best. The mint should be bright green, fresh and you should have a lot of it. While there are many delicious bourbons out there, we prefer to use Woodford Reserve for our Mint Juleps.

  1. Gently, but firmly, rub or slap a sprig of mint between the palms of your hands. Rub the mint sprig on the inside of the glass.
  2. Add the bourbon and simple syrup, stirring to combine. Top with crushed ice, forming a dome of crushed ice on top.
  3. Slap the remaining mint sprigs 1 or 2 times until fragrant. Insert the mint sprigs, along with a straw, down the side of the glass, nestling the straw within the mint sprigs.
  4. Serve immediately.
